Perse is a naturally adventurous soul, she loves to explore new places, If you ever need an exploration buddy, she’s a great person to call! Perse is also very naturally creative. She loves to come up with new ideas and learn new skills. Going hand in hand with her creativity is a passion for innovation. Creating new things is something she enjoys, even if it simple solutions. She is also very companionly, maybe it was her time with her mom, but she really likes to hang around others and is good company. Empathy is something she learned as well, she has been through rough times, and is a good comfort for those who have too.
Directness is something perse has down. She’s blunt and tells it as it is.. Perse is also very selfless, she loves to do things for other people but also… doesn't really like to do things for herself. There's a fine line.
Perse happens to be a very… blunt character. She doesn’t like to beat around the bush and will address things as they come up, instead of putting them off. She can come off as rude, or even pushy sometimes because of it. She's a bit insecure about herself and her past, but tries obsessively to keep it and her surroundings under control so she can live her life free of it. That vulnerability keeps her reserved sometimes

Rael has always had a very warped sense of self. They didn’t grow up with the opportunity to create who they were, they just existed for a while. They are a smart individual, street and booksmart. Years of rigid learning drilled a strict regimen into them that still holds. They’re disciplined and controlled (for the most part) and hard to get a rise out of. Due to this, they seem like a cold and heartless being. The cold exterior doesn’t stop there, its paired with a bit of a reckless streak thats gotten them in trouble more than once, as well as a streak of charisma. This external projection is strong, and has persisted through the long time they have been alive. Rarely ever do they genuinely interact with others (or even have the opportunity), so this works out well for them. It is receptive with other demons in the underworld and those they work with.
Buried deep under everything, Rael is a relaxed, receptive being. Quiet and a good listener, rael is surprisingly docile considering their past. They really just like comfort. Surprisingly, Rael has a bit of a selfless streak in them, which only really extends to those they love.

Backstory

Their father, Asmodeus, was a pos demon who kidnapped and assaulted their mother, Ophie, a pretty low ranking angel. She got pregnant, and subsequently became a fallen angel and lost her wings when she gave birth and refused to give the baby to the father (who literally didn't give a fuck because he assumed she died anyway).
So rael was raised with a mother who tried her best to navigate foreign lands, and having a baby that was half what she hated, while dealing with her own issues of the assault and becoming a fallen angel. It really wasn’t a good recipe at all, because she eventually began to resent her child and begged for forgiveness to get her wings back. The only way to get her wings and status back were to completely denounce her own child, who at the time, was still a toddler. She’d fought so hard to make sure the father didn’t even know of the birth, so she didn’t want to change that, yet. And, she could search this new land for someone to take care of them, she had plenty of time.
So most of Rael’s early years were lonely. They had a mother, yea, but she was too occupied in writing long manuscript drafts on denouncing her own child, or going through page after page of nanny or adoption ads. Rael took their first steps in an enclosed childs playpen.
They grew up illiterate and semi- mute. They could understand words, but was never taught how to read or say them. When they were 10, their mother gave up entirely. She didn’t want to raise this child (and wasn’t really anyway), so she took them to the gate of the underworld, and dropped them off with a note for Asmodeus. It detailed very little, other than Rael being the demon’s kid. While Rael was sitting, waiting for one of the many demons to notice the abandoned child, Ophie was delivering the manuscript, and denouncing their child. Praying for forgiveness and removing herself from the sin of her offspring. She never wanted to see them ever again.
Eventually Asmodeus was notified of the 10 year old just walking around, and came to gather them. Rael couldn’t answer many questions, they could just nod and shake their head. When asked where their mother went, they just pointed up. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what happened, but the demon didn’t really want this child who couldn’t do much. He had connections everywhere, but not a single angel or fallen angel was willing to take Rael in. A few offered to teach them how to read and give them voice therapy, but none wanted an extra mouth to feed. So they ended up in ‘classes’ from 6 am, to 6 pm, every single day. A rigid structure to ‘make up for all the learning they lost’ and an easy way for asmodeus to no have to deal with them. He paid a lesser demon to make rael breakfast and dinner, and to put them to bed promptly at 8.
By 13 they had learned how to speak, read (latin too), do math, history, everything. They were a bright kid, but stuck in the structure and still too young to really do much by themself. But, the angel in them really kept them from acting out or doing much else. Until they were 16, and by some weird grace, managed to see their mother again at some kind of meeting. Asmodeus couldn’t get either teacher or their usual babysitter to take them.
This sent them into a massive spiral. They hadn’t had the skills or verbage to understand what happened to their mom, so it never really came up. But now, knowing the separation between angels and demons, they were able to piece it together. She had her wings back, and was laughing with her angels- they went ballistic. Asmodeus had to basically wrestle them back to the underworld, all while they screamed for her. Mom, a word they’d never said before. Ophie didn’t even bat an eye.
This cracked open some kind of beast in them, which delighted their father. He’d never seen the little hybrid more angry and didn’t realize they could BE angry. This led to them learning to take their anger out in shitty ways, like beating the shit out of lesser demons Asmodeus hired to teach them to fight. Very quickly, they became a whole different person, filled with a nasty craving. It went on like this for years and years, them growing and maturing into that anger and abandonment. They worked for their father (because technically, they operated outside the rules of the underworld) until they met a seraphim during an off chance encounter in the middle of nowhere.
It lit a flame under their feet and consumed them, dragging them through a very conscious recollection of all major life events in order to leave before the hybrid was able to escape. They found out about why their mother fell and Asmodeus being a terrible person. Their anger sizzled out, and the foundations they’d built burned. Their life wasn’t a lie, it was just founded on something no one brought up.
They vanished for a while, immortal life really had that advantage. They hid out in abandoned cabins for ages, until they gathered everything up to go confront Asmodeus. Turns out, someone got there first. Asmodeus had pissed off the wrong demon, got his rank revoked, and was torn to shreds. Rael came back to a dead father and the demon responsible offering up his position to the young hybrid.
Asmodeus never did much, just sit and look pretty, but Rael had the advantage of a combination of powers from both sides that the demons saw they could use. As much as Rael hated their father, he was the reason why they were alive and semi successful at life. They took the position, despite it being mostly cosmetic, just for the safety, and because the angels wouldn’t even look them in the eyes.

Reign, for most of her life, has been described as a very strong willed individual. She gets in other peoples faces, and isn't afraid to stand up to others. Sha cares about what she does and who she protects, and sticks with it, year, after year, after year. Even so, she's a hard shell to crack. She keeps a lot about herself closed off and offers up many different versions to please others, so sometimes you can't tell when she's being serious.
She's wildly cunning and charismatic, she had to be to get where she is today. She can think of plans on her feet and isn't afraid to use others to get what she wants.
